This workshop provides an introduction to foundational concepts in natural language processing (NLP) with a hands-on tutorial. We will work through an entire basic NLP workflow covering acquiring text corpora from the web, text pre-processing, summary statistics and visualization, and building generative models.
Audience: Harvard Faculty, Students, and Staff are all welcome. (Priority is given to Harvard faculty, doctoral students, and RAs).
Prerequisites: This workshop is appropriate for those with little or no prior experience with Python.
Software requirements: No prior setup required, but please have a GitHub account to access the workshop materials.
